Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirmed talks for Federico Marchetti and Rolando Mandragora, but “Roma and Lazio didn’t ask for Diego Laxalt.”

The Grifone are at the centre of several big transfer stories, including goalkeeper Mattia Perin, who completed his medical with Juventus today.

“Perin has the quality to become the top goalkeeper at Juventus and in my view he is among the best shot-stoppers in the world,” Preziosi told reporters outside the Lega Serie A meeting.

“Perin has the quality to become the top goalkeeper at Juventus and in my view he is among the best shot-stoppers in the world,” Preziosi told reporters outside the Lega Serie A meeting.

“We already have an agreement with Marchetti. It’s true we are also interested in Mandragora.”

Veteran goalkeeper Marchetti is a free agent after he was frozen out by Lazio, while it’d be a return to Marassi for Mandragora.

The 20-year-old creative midfielder came up through their youth academy and was sold to Juventus for €6.5m in January 2016.

He impressed during loan spells at Pescara and Crotone, enough to earn his senior Italy debut, so this would be another loan to get regular Serie A playing time.

Uruguay international Laxalt declared he intends to move on this summer, but Preziosi stalled talk of an imminent move.

“Roma and Lazio didn’t ask for Laxalt, nor have they ever made an offer for him. At the moment, there’s nothing in it.

“We’ll also see if there is the chance to conclude an operation with Milan for Andrea Bertolacci, but it’s not easy.”
