Chelsea are not letting go of Maurizio Sarri and are trying to work out a joint strategy to fight Napoli, claim Sportitalia.
The negotiations had appeared to break down after Napoli refused to terminate his contract by mutual consent – despite having already signed replacement Carlo Ancelotti.
At the same time, Chelsea wouldn’t pay the €8m release clause in his contract, which expired on May 31.

According to Sportitalia this evening, director Marina Granovskaia flew to Russia in order to work out a strategy with owner Roman Abramovich.
The push to free Sarri from Napoli’s grasp begins in earnest from Monday and it links in with Il Mattino’s report that Sarri will hand in his resignation.
The Coach will remain on the Napoli payroll until the deal is terminated by mutual consent.
Chelsea agreed terms with Laurent Blanc last week, but continue to consider him Plan B.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia and Marca claim that Real Madrid contacted Antonio Conte to ask for his availability.
It’s easy to forget Conte is still under contract with Chelsea and nobody has said he is fired, but Chelsea would have to pay €10m if they sacked the Italian.
