“It was a very intense match and Lazio gave their best in the decisive moments,” confessed Rose in his Press conference.

“It was a very intense match and Lazio gave their best in the decisive moments,” confessed Rose in his Press conference.
“We were twice able to get back into it, but then conceded soft goals. I have to analyse this defeat, as effectively we conceded goals that we should not be letting in and that makes the second leg very tough. We can still do it, though.”
Salzburg had lost only one game all season, back in August, and were still unbeaten in the Europa League with five wins and five draws, keeping six clean sheets.
“I think we had the right mentality this evening and we had to prove we were worthy of this level. I can’t reproach my team for that, as we played with great intensity, but have to improve in defence. We managed to hold out under their aggressive approach in the first half, but struggled after the break.”
Xaver Schlager and Diadie Samassekou were booked and will be suspended for the second leg, but South Korean striker Hee-Chan Hwang returns.
“We’ll have to deal with those bans, but we’ll be ready. I didn’t lose hope after a good performance against a very strong side. We did everything we could and played well, but were facing an excellent opponent.
“I will underline again that we should’ve conceded fewer goals and we’ll have to work on that.”
