Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent has revealed that “a couple of big clubs showed their appreciation” for the Inter striker last month.
Real Madrid and Manchester United were both linked with Icardi during the January transfer window, and his other half appeared to give credence to the speculation, while asserting “only I will take care” of the Argentine’s future.
“I haven’t met the sporting director Ausilio, but we talk on the phone a lot,” Wanda Icardi told Corriere dello Sport.

“He knows what I think and I know his and the club’s position. In the last transfer window, a couple of big teams showed their appreciation for Mauro.
“I’m taking care of his future. At the very least, I must listen to them and evaluate the conditions and situation.
“Big clubs also wanted him in the past, but Mauro has always chosen Inter. He’s done a lot for these colours and never doubted what shirt he wanted to wear.
“He was chosen to be their captain at the age of 22, and unlike what’s been said, he has an excellent relationship with his teammates.
“He wants the best for Inter, like Ausilio does, but I, and only I, will take care of Mauro’s future.
“Therefore, I have to evaluate his options: everything goes through me, so whoever wants Icardi must knock on my door first.
“Raiola? I have great respect for Mino, but there are many others who’d like to work with Mauro and I’m his agent.
“€110m clause? I think Inter are happy that one of their players has acquired so much value.
“€110m is a lot of money. Do the club plan to raise it? I don’t think that’s the problem, however we’ll discuss it and see.
“Of course, everything is clearer with his clause.”
