“I am the first person to be happy that Verdi is staying,” said Donadoni in his Press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match with Benevento.

“I think it’s wonderful that he will continue to give his support to Bologna. Verdi’s decision shows his values, as he wants to continue and improve his growth progress.

“We need Verdi’s contribution tomorrow to put in a strong performance. We cannot repeat the game we saw against Torino and hopefully that defeat was a lesson learned.

“Benevento are fired up and confident after two straight wins, so they are a very dangerous opponent to be facing right now. I know that to win tomorrow, we need to have our tails up and be fully focused.”

Blerim Dzemaili has joined the Rossoblu, returning from his spell at Montreal Impact, while Saphir Taider is going the other way.

“Dzemaili looked good in training and I can really count on him this season. If there are smart and logical moves on the transfer market to be made, then that’s fine, but there’s no rush to make changes.”
