Having not played for the first team since February, and facing a number of disciplinary issues, the former Arsenal man has been excluded by his club.
“The current situation is unsatisfactory for all involved and cannot be allowed to become a permanent status,” sporting director Klaus Allofs said in a statement on Wolfsburg’s official website.
“For that reason, we got together again on Wednesday and held discussions along with his agent in search of a solution.”
It’s expected that Bendtner will be released from his contract and told to find a new club.
