Atalanta remain in talks for Wales international Jordan James, but multiple reports in Italy claim La Dea are unwilling to match Birmingham City‘s €10m asking price.

James has emerged as one of Atalanta’s targets in the January transfer window and although the Serie A side seemed close to reaching an agreement with Birmingham City at the beginning of the January transfer window, talks between the two clubs are now stalling, according to reports in Italy.

TuttoAtalanta and La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Atalanta and Birmingham City have not yet reached an agreement over the Welshman’s transfer fee.

According to the reports, the asking price for the 19-year-old is €10m, but Atalanta are unwilling to pay as much.

Gazzetta says Atalanta hope the player’s will can play a key part in negotiations, given that he could join a team fighting for a Champions League placement from one in the English second division.

James has scored six goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season.
