Genoa are in talks with Napoli about signing Alessandro Gamberini this summer, his agent has confirmed.
“The situation is evolving,” representative Francesco Romano told I Am Naples. “The negotiations are underway.”
The 31-year-old could join the Marassi outfit on loan for the rest of the season after they sold Andreas Granqvist to Russian club Krasnodar last week.
Romano added that the Gamberini transfer would not be affected by whether Napoli succeed in signing Davide Astori from Cagliari.
“The two deals are not connected at all,” the agent noted.
Gamberini, a centre-back, has also played for hometown club Bologna and Fiorentina during his career to date.
