Sampdoria have admitted that Mauro Icardi will probably end up at Inter before the start of next season.
The young Argentine striker, still just 20, is wanted by the Nerazzurri and a deal is seemingly on the horizon.
“Let us say that there is a promise with Inter and I’m somebody who usually keeps their promises,” Samp President Edoardo Garrone told FC Inter 1908.
“The problem is that the transfer market is only open in January and then not again until June. Now that the championship is over, the deals that are almost done will be completed.”
There is the belief that Icardi will move to the San Siro in a player plus cash deal that could involve a number of Inter youth team stars.
“We are at that stage when the two clubs’ sporting directors are expressing an interest in youngsters,” Garrone added.
The former Barcelona forward has scored nine goals in 30 Serie A games this term.
