Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani has threatened to move the club away from the Stadio Adriatico in a dispute with the local council.
This week councillors accused Pescara of using some storage space in the stadium, which is owned by the council, without paying rent for that particular area of the arena.
“The accusations are simply ridiculous, seeing as we are talking about an old storage room with minimal value and it still contains shirts with our old sponsors,” replied President Sebastiani on the official club website.
“I have requested a meeting with the Mayor to clarify the situation. I am also ready to pay an adequate sum to cover the supposed costs up until now.
“Someone doesn’t like Pescara being in Serie A, especially those who insinuate that the club doesn’t bring any economic boost to the city, but I can assure you that is not the case.
“If people continue to throw a spanner in the works, I am ready to take the club away from Pescara and the Stadio Adriatico. I have already received the all-clear from a Mayor of a nearby city to host our games if needs be.”
