Lazio will have to do without Mauro Zarate for the next two weeks after tests showed he has suffered a thigh strain, but there is better news for Hernanes.
Zarate raised eyebrows when he was not even on the bench for Thursday’s 0-0 Europa League draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
It later emerged this was because of an injury and tests have shown the Argentine will be out for two weeks with a thigh strain.
There is more reassuring news for teammate Hernanes, who limped off during the Spurs match with a muscular problem.
Tests showed no lesion to the gluteal muscle, so he will undergo physiotherapy and light training in the hope of recovering in time for Tuesday’s match with Udinese.
