Pablo Barrientos surprised many when he used Twitter to declare he is going to leave Catania.
“The sad moment has arrived when I must leave this beautiful city and its people,” wrote the midfielder.
It is not clear what prompted this statement, but Barrientos was left out of today’s 2-1 win against Chievo.
The Argentine first joined Catania in 2009 and spent six months on loan with Estudiantes from January to June 2011.
He later posted another tweet that read: "I'm sorry for those who didn't like what I said. Sometimes you write without thinking."
