Gian Piero Gasperini warns Palermo that today’s lunchtime relegation tussle with Sampdoria is “our only objective.”
Both teams are struggling badly this season and only two points separate them in the table. It kicks off at 11.30am GMT at the Stadio Barbera.
“Our only objective is to win this match,” said the Coach who replaced Giuseppe Sannino after a handful of games.
“Getting three points would give us confidence and a better position in the standings. We’ve got to make home advantage count against Sampdoria.”
Massimo Donati has made a rapid recovery from his thigh strain, but Fabrizio Miccoli is in the stands.
“We’ve got to make the most of this moment and Sampdoria’s difficulties. They have lost six in a row and we can pounce on their weaknesses.
“On the other hand, I am concerned that Samp will react to this negative streak with a great performance.”
