Gokhan Inler's agent has denied reports that his client's proposed move from Udinese to Napoli will not happen.
Dino Lamberti was quoted by some media as saying that the midfielder would not be signing for the San Paolo outfit because he'd already agreed to join another Italian team.
However, contacted by CalcioNapoli24.it, the representative has given his version of the situation.
"The things I have been reading in the newspapers are not true," Lamberti noted. "I never said that Inler would not be joining Napoli.
"I am contacted by the media every day for an update on the negotiations.
"Napoli and Udinese have agreed a deal, but I have never been contacted by Napoli myself.
"If the Azzurri officials don't interact with me then with whom am I going to discuss contract terms? The fans? The journalists?"
Inler has been linked with a move to Napoli for some time, but the agent added that they are not the only club interested.
"He's desired by a lot of great clubs," Lamberti continued.
"Bayer Leverkusen call me 30 times a day and an Italian side, who I had an appointment with on Monday, want to bring that meeting forward to tomorrow.
"We have always declared that Napoli were up there in terms of our preferred destinations, but we can't wait forever.
"To conclude, the player wants to stay in Italy."
Reports are suggesting that the other Italian club keen on the Switzerland international is Juventus.
