Catania boss Diego Simeone is being linked with a switch to Atletico Madrid by reports in Spain on Monday.
The Argentine's future at the Stadio Massimino is hardly secure after a problematic spell in charge since taking over from Marco Giampaolo mid-season.
Although he looks like he has done enough to keep the club in Serie A, he may be set for a summer exit.
According to stories in Spain today, Simeone may be on the verge of taking charge of Atletico Madrid for 2011-12.
The former midfielder, who featured for the Liga club during his playing days, is said to already be house-hunting in the Spanish capital.
Simeone had two spells with Atletico as a player, one between 1994 and 1997 before his moves to Inter and Lazio. He returned for two seasons in 2003.
