Juventus have asked Palermo about the prospect of signing Abel Hernandez, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 21-year-old Uruguay international hit the headlines again on Saturday with a brace against Roma at the Olimpico.
Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta is said to have made an inquiry to Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Juventus would offer Amauri as a makeweight in the deal, which would still require a cash outlay.
Zamparini has said in the past that he would welcome Amauri back to Sicily but only if the striker were to take a wage cut.
