Esteban Cambiasso believes Inter “have the possibility to fight back and qualify” after their Schalke setback.
Last night's Champions League quarter-final was something of a disaster for the holders, who lost 5-2 on home turf.
“Analysing the match we can say we started well, then after the break we conceded two goals and a red card, which ruined everything,” he told Mediaset Premium.
“Now we have to remain calm and start again, without hiding from what happened, and keep a cool head.
“We were tired and paid the price in the long run with our fitness levels, just as we did against Milan.”
Inter fought back from a 1-0 home defeat to qualify in the last round against Bayern Munich, but can they do it again after a 5-2 scoreline?
“We have the possibility to fight back and qualify. Schalke came here and scored five goals, so we can do it in Gelsenkirchen.
“Our chances are certainly reduced, we cannot deny that, but this is football. There have been games that taught us we must always believe. Always.”
