Ronaldo wants Adriano back in Brazil

Brazil's legendary striker Ronaldo would like Adriano to replace him at Corinthians when he retires in December 2011.

Adriano joined Roma in the summer, but he has yet to make an impact on account of injuries and selection choices at the Olimpico.

"The Emperor is a player worthy of Corinthians because he is a warrior and has a fantastic story to write," Ronaldo said.

Adriano has a three-year contract with Roma and although he has only made two appearances in Serie A this season it appears he feels part of the team.

Roma's players ran over to him in celebration after Sunday's 2-0 victory over Lazio in the derby, something Claudio Ranieri appreciated in a column he wrote for yesterday's Il Corriere dello Sport.
