Roma defender Philippe Mexes has decided to join Milan at the end of the season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 28-year-old France international is out of contract in the summer and has stalled talks for a renewal with Rosella Sensi.
Milan made an inquiry in January, but it was agreed with the player that the best solution would be to wait until June.
La Gazzetta understands that Milan have readied a four-year deal for Mexes worth €4m a season.
Real Madrid apparently also expressed an interest in the player, but Mexes' mind is already made up.
Milan are gradually rejuvenating their ageing side. No fewer than eight players' contracts expire this summer and some will not be renewed.
Mexes is being viewed as a long-term replacement for Alessandro Nesta, who at 34, is considering retirement.
