Lazio midfielder Hernanes has revealed how he couldn't sleep after his sending off for Brazil in Wednesday's friendly with France.
The 25-year-old made a Nigel De Jong style challenge on Karim Benzema after 40 minutes and promptly received his marching orders.
Brazil subsequently lost a foothold in the game and ended up losing 1-0 at the Stade de France.
"I didn't want to hurt Karim," Hernanes said. "The referee punished me for my first foul.
"After the game I didn't get a wink of sleep thinking about getting the ball.
"I am devastated. I had waited for this chance with Brazil for a long time and instead I got sent off.
"It's not normal for me. It's the second red card of my career. I am not a bad person."
