Sampdoria have completed the signing of Zsolt Laczko, which would appear to indicate that Reto Ziegler is on his way to Milan before the end of the transfer window.
The 24-year-old Hungarian is a like-for-like replacement for Ziegler and cost €830,000 from Debrecen.
However, both Sampdoria and Milan have yet to come to an agreement for the Switzerland international.
Milan reiterated that they are only prepared to pay €2.5m for Ziegler.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that the League leaders have strengthened their position by agreeing personal terms with the player.
Samp, though, are holding out for €3.5m and show no intention of being short-changed after the deal that took Antonio Cassano to Milan.
