Italy's 2006 World Cup winner Andrea Barzagli looks set for a January return to Italian football.
The defender has less than six months left on his Wolfsburg contract and he's not expected to see out the season in the Bundesliga.
"There is a possibility that my client will leave Wolfsburg," agent Claudio Orlandini was quoted as saying on Monday.
"All I can say is that something is happening and he would be in favour of an eventual return to Italy. Let's see what occurs…"
Roma have been strongly paired even if Orlandini has denied any talks. "I haven't been contacted by Roma," he added.
Juventus, Genoa and Napoli have also been paired with the central defender who could be available for a nominal fee.
