Simeone still fears Lazio

Lazio may be in turmoil with Edy Reja reportedly resigning, but Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone insists they need “concentration” in tomorrow’s match.

The Spaniards won the first leg of their Europa League encounter 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico last week, making them huge favourites to qualify for the next round.

“We must not make the mistake of thinking we have already qualified,” insisted Simeone.

“I know Lazio well and played there in the past, so I am aware this team never gives in. We must only focus on getting through to the next round without making calculations.

“Everyone knows the capability of the Italian teams, as in difficult moments they tend to bring out their best efforts. The 2006 World Cup was proof of that.

“Tomorrow we will give our all and play our game, as always.”

Former Juventus man Diego is not in the squad due to an injury.
