The 50-year-old Tuscan has been a breath of fresh air with his boldcounter-attacking 3-4-1-2 interchangeable system and the club has thrived by embracing his beliefs. After reaching the Champions League last 16, beating the champions Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final and finishing in fifth spot, just three points behind third-placed Udinese last season, Mazzarri was given a year’s extension to his contract which now runs to 2015.
