Yet he admits his career could’ve taken a very different path when he left Saint-Etienne for Borussia Dortmund in July 2013.
“My father did talk to me about Napoli interest and I was pleased that (President Aurelio) De Laurentiis wanted me at Napoli,” Aubameyang told Mediaset Premium this evening.
“Some things in life just don’t end up happening. Would I have gone to Napoli? Never say never in life, but I think it was two or three years ago.”
Aubameyang is no stranger to Serie A, because he grew up in the Milan youth academy and was loaned out repeatedly.
Eventually he wsa sold to Saint-Etienne in 2012 for €1.8m.
