The Reds boss is said to be convinced that he can return the player to the levels he showed whilst playing at Sevilla and Monaco, but Inter are not keen on a loan deal, instead preferring a cash payment.
The Nerazzurri spent €31 million on the player in summer 2015, but he has failed to live up to that price tag as yet.
