Serie A new boys Cagliari impressed in a 1-1 draw with Hamburger SV, as Marco Borriello, Bruno Alves and Mauricio Isla made their debuts.
Veteran striker Borriello blasted over before Diego Farias was brought down by Ostrzolek for a penalty that he also converted.
The German goal was also from the spot, as Marco Storari was penalised for a foul on Cleber and Aaron Hunt equalised.
Isla only completed his transfer from Juventus yesterday, but came off the bench to the acclaim of the fans for the final 18 minutes at the Stadio Sant’Elia.

“We tried out a new system, which was either with three or five at the back depending on the tactical approach, because we don’t know if we’ll have Joao Pedro fit for the Serie A opener,” explained Coach Massimo Rastelli.
“We’ll already be without his natural replacement, as Barella is suspended. Consequently I didn’t want to go into such an important match without first testing this approach.
“Borriello is without doubt at a more advanced stage of pre-season training than Isla, who just returned from vacation after winning the Copa America.”
