The captain was sensationally told to go home ahead of tonight’s Serie A game with Palermo after an interview in which he was bitterly critical of Coach Luciano Spalletti.
“When Francesco talks about respect, I’ve no idea what he’s referring to,” President Pallotta told Il Messaggero.
“Clearly I respect Totti and I will meet with him.”
The forward, who turns 40 in September, complained that he “deserved more respect” from Spalletti and the club over the lack of playing time.
