Nikola Kalinic is “living a dream” at Fiorentina, said the Croatia international striker’s agent.

He bagged a hat-trick at San Siro in the 4-1 victory over Inter and was also on target this week on international duty against Bulgaria.

“He is very happy and his teammates were also so pleased for him,” agent Tomislav Erceg told Firenzeviola.it.

“Along with the goal, he also provided an assist for the 2-0, which was very similar to one Nikola did for Hajduk against Dinamo Zagreb in September 2008.

“Nobody expected such a strong start to the season and that includes him, I imagine! Changing country, League, club and language can bring difficulties, but Nikola settled in so quickly.

“To score four goals in the opening seven Serie A games made him incredibly happy. He’s living a dream in Florence.”

The Viola are two points clear at the top of the table, a position they hadn’t been in since 1999.

“I hear some people talk about the Scudetto, but the fans ought to keep their feet on the ground. It’s a long tournament and just getting into the Champions League would already be a huge achievement for Nikola and Fiorentina.

“There’s a lot of Paulo Sousa’s work in the performances that Kalinic is now getting with the Fiorentina jersey.”
