Pinturicchio closed his career after seasons with Australian club Sydney FC and India's Delhi Dynamos, but now he may consider a future at the head of a team.

“If you'd asked me about coaching three years ago I'd have said no, but now I've had several experiences,” he said, as reported by Sport Mediaset.

“In Italy, after 20 years, you have only one vision of football. It's a fantastic vision, but it's only the one.

“I want to take some more time before deciding if that's the right path for me.”

Del Piero then revealed a link between his playing career and Celtic FC.

“I've been in touch with Celtic for a few seasons. We were close, but then we both chose different options.

“I'd have liked to have played here, in Glasgow, because of what the supporters make you feel on the pitch.”
