“I want to see a team that gives its all, because we must find the right consistency from game to game,” said Pioli in a Press conference.

“We won a difficult midweek round against Genoa, but we are still in a difficult moment. So far away from home we’ve lacked tactical and psychological solidity. We have worked on this and I expect big steps forward.”

Biglia returns in midfield, but Stefan de Vrij, Antonio Candreva, Miroslav Klose and Abdoullay Konko are still out of action.

“The squad is limited, so clearly having Lucas back gives us a boost tactically and in terms of character. I think he can play from the start.

“Considering our characteristics, we haven’t scored many of the chances created. We need to play more as a team, both when attacking and defending.

“Hunger makes the difference in every match. I know Verona are missing important players, but also notched up good results at home. We must play with humility and respect.”
