“Am I satisfied with the transfer market? Generally I’m never satisfied, as I always want to do better,” Giuntoli told Sky Sport Italia.

“We helped fix the defence by bringing in Pepe Reina, one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and a defender like Elseid Hysaj who can play on the right or left. Then there’s Vlad Chiriches, a defender of international level who will soon adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s system.

“Allan was one of the best midfielders in Serie A last season, so it was an intelligent and focused transfer strategy.”

Napoli have started the campaign with two points from three Serie A rounds, so the pressure is building on Coach Sarri.

“Last season I saw the 4-2 defeat to Empoli and remember few Azzurri chances. On Sunday we played a good game, had more shots on target and played in an intelligent fashion.

“We are growing, then Sarri needs time and we all knew that going in.”
