Good news for Roma, as it’s reported Miralem Pjanic’s injury is less serious than previously thought.

The Bosnia international had limped off during international duty against Andorra and was initially diagnosed with a first degree right calf strain.

However, rumours outside of Bosnia suggest the medical results performed there point to a less serious injury.

It’s hoped Pjanic will only be ruled out for two weeks rather than three.

It’s hoped Pjanic will only be ruled out for two weeks rather than three.

This would mean he’d be back for the Serie A match against Sampdoria on September 23.

He is still not going to be available for the Champions League showdown with Barcelona on September 16, though.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Roma defender Elio Capradossi has undergone surgery on a torn cruciate ligament in his knee.

He sustained the injury while playing for the Italy Under-20 side and is expected to be out of action for five to six months.
