An intermediary blamed Jonathan de Guzman’s agent for the collapse of his transfer from Napoli to Bournemouth.

The deal had been agreed between clubs and the Dutch international seemed all set for a medical when he didn’t catch his flight.

“I tried to mediate between them, but the move collapsed due to the arrogance of his agent,” FIFA agent Vincenzo Morabito told Radio Marte.

“We often see some agents think they are the owners of the player, forgetting it’s the club who buys his services.

“There was an agreement for a €1m loan plus option to buy for €5m, but they dragged in other non-existent offers from Hamburger SV and Olympique Marseille.”

There were also reports that De Guzman was suffering from a groin injury that will require surgery.

“I think the injury was invented to block the transfer, as Napoli knew full well what his condition was,” added Morabito.

“Now Napoli have been damaged economically and in terms of image, so I think they should sue his agent for damages.”
