Napoli have confirmed that Gonzalo Higuain has refused a call-up to the Argentina squad due to illness.
The striker was named in Tata Martino’s squad for the friendlies against Bolivia and Mexico, but will remain in Italy while he recovers from illness.
“Higuain will not respond to being called-up by Argentina, because he’s stuck at home with a fever,” the Partenopei confirmed in a statement.
