The 22-year-old full-back flew in for his medical on Tuesday and completed the paperwork today.

“They are also in the Champions League and have very passionate fans, which is very important for me.

“I know that in this city and at this club there are all the ingredients needed to win.”

The Giallorossi announced the move was a loan for €2.5m with option to buy at the end of the season.

However, unusually for Roma, they did not state the figure for this option to buy.

It is widely reported to be in the region of €15m.
