According to Il Messaggero, Lazio are considering the possibility of offering Gilardino a deal.

This may lure the player away from the Sicilian side in spite of President Maurizio Zamparini's insistence that a deal was imminent, as the Aquile are able to offer playing time in the Champions League.

The striker played the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, though he still belongs to the Chinese club.
