Juventus may be moving closer to a deal for Julian Draxler, as reports suggest Schalke are no longer demanding €30m up-front.

The Bundesliga side warned today that they will not wait until transfer deadline day to sell the attacking midfielder, prompting another Bianconeri bid.

It was suggested that Schalke were looking for €30m up-front, rather than the €20m plus €10m in bonuses being offered by the Old Lady.

In a new development, Gazzetta dello Sport is now reporting that Die Knappen have now opened up to the idea of accepting bonus payments rather than a lump sum.

While a bid has not been accepted, the newspaper believes this is a positive development for Juve, who had no intention of shelling out €30m for a player who has struggled with injuries.

The Bianconeri wish to include an appearance-related clause in the deal, but can now negotiate with Schalke in earnest.
