Roma have still not made Edin Dzeko’s transfer official, as they’re now reportedly waiting for paperwork.

The Giallorossi confirmed they had loaned Antonio Sanabria to Sporting Gijon yesterday, freeing up a non-EU space for the Manchester City striker.

The Bosnian international has been training with his new teammates at Trigoria, but could not officially complete his move until there was a non-EU slot available.

The Bosnian international has been training with his new teammates at Trigoria, but could not officially complete his move until there was a non-EU slot available.

However, Sky reports that the deal still can’t be officially completed, as Roma are still missing a piece of paperwork necessary to seal the transfer.

While there is no danger of the move falling through, the situation is of concern to the Lupi, as their final pre-season friendly of the season is on Friday [August 14].

If the deal is not complete by then, Dzeko will head into the Serie A season having no on-field interaction with his teammates.
