According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Italian authorities were able to inspect the pitch on August 5 and should’ve taken action then.

The Shanghai Stadium has been used for several pre-season friendlies, including Inter v Milan in the International Champions Cup.

This is the fourth time the Super Cup has been hosted by China, but the other three were in Beijing.

There are also concerns over a typhoon that is wreaking havoc in the area, as last night it hit Taiwan, but weather reports suggest it won’t reach Shanghai in time to disrupt the game.
