A typhoon could cause the Italian Supercup final between Lazio and Juventus to be deferred, but experts are optimistic.

The Biancocelesti and the Bianconeri are due to face off tomorrow at 13:00, UK time, which will be in the evening hours in Shanghai, where the match is being played.

But a typhoon named Soudelor could compromise the final, as reported initially by Lazionews.eu and later bounced on other Italian media sites.

As the weather is expected to turn to heavy rain tomorrow, there are odds that Soudelor could hit Shanghai directly.

Should that be the case the match would have to be deferred until December, though probably to take place in Doha, Qatar, rather than in China.

Fortunately experts believe that won't be necessary. According to Diggita.it, the typhoon is believed to have already exhausted the better part of its strength, and may turn towards the south-east of China only on Sunday morning.

By then Soudelor is expected to have lost most of its dangerous power.
