The 28-year-old was signed by the Rossoneri this summer as part of an aggressive transfer market campaign, and will be expected to play a pivotal role in lifting the club from their prolonged crisis.

“I'll always play at my best,” he said. “For me, being serious in your profession is fundamental.

“The ambition of Milan's new project seduced me. The club wants to compete for the Scudetto and return to the Champions League.

“I love this drive to win that everybody's showing, starting from the President.

“I'll try giving it my all to help the team achieve its objectives.

“Besides, Milan is the second team with the highest number of Champions League titles, they are respected all over the world.

“Here in China we had an incredible welcome and the love shown by the supporters was boundless.

“I always liked this team, when I was a child on the Colombian TV all you saw was Italian football.

“My job is scoring goals and I want to score an enormous amount of them with these colours, I wish to give a lot of joy to the supporters.”

The Colombian was also asked about his opinion of new Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“He's demanding and a perfectionist, he tries to correct every small error.

“He seems ambitious to me and he works with high intensity. Above all else he loves to win and he conveys this drive well.”
