Roma Coach Rudi Garcia believes Serie A is 'on the rise' in Europe, while looking forward to the Champions League draw.

In his Press conference ahead of tomorrow's friendly against Real Madrid in Melbourne, the Frenchman was able to discuss the Lupi's European ambitions.

“The Champions League draw is important,” he admitted. “Last year we had a really tough group, but we want to do better than that and reach the last sixteen.

“We're developing and we want to be even stronger. Now we have greater experience.”

The 51-year-old was asked whether Serie A were regaining its old prestige, and the Coach answered affirmatively.

“All of last year's European results show that Italian football is on the rise.

“We see that in the transfer market too, which is always a thermometer. Some great players have come to Italy."

Garcia was also asked about the Australian youngster Danny De Silva, who joined Roma this summer from Perth Glory.

“He is Roma's future, though he will have to develop very much.

“He has a strong sense of play. It will be interesting for him to train with some great champions. Roma have eyes everywhere in the world of football.”
