“Since I returned to Italy I haven't had a chance to speak with the President,” he told Il Secolo XIX.
“Right now I'm focused on the training camp and I'm working hard for Samp.

“I have a long contract here, I'm happy and I don't have to do anything other than training at my best.”
Eder was also asked whether he may represent an icon for Sampdoria.
“To be honest I don't believe in icons. You can play well for four years in a row, the way I think I've done, while gradually improving, but if you have a dip for three months you get criticized by everyone.
“It's not the icons that matter to me but rather having a good relationship with a place.
“Here in Genova I'm happy, my family is happy, so if I talk with the President and he decides I am to stay, I'm delighted.
“The President called me when I was in Brazil, and he told me of an offer from Qatar.
“There was a lot of money in it for himself and for me, but I said no.
“I'm not thinking too much about money at the moment. I may change my mind two weeks from now, but for the moment I have no interest in going to Qatar.
“And the same holds true for any other club, in Italy or abroad. But of course I'd have to speak with Sampdoria first.”
