In his first Press conference, Mihajlovic was open about his ambitions for the team.

“Milan's objective is to win every game, but we'll see where we are at season's end,” he said. “Pretty high up, for sure.

“We must work hard and be exemplary professionals.

“We need to regain our confidence and be optimistic.

“All of the supporters and everyone in the club must be united. We can achieve some great things.

“We have a basic formation that we'll start from, and many quality offensive players.

“We can try out [Stephan] El Shaarawy as a midfielder, on the wing. I already had a chat with the lad.

“[Alessio] Cerci is ductile, while [Giacomo] Bonaventura can cover a variety of roles.

“They are important, quality players, and they are Italian.

“I know you're going to ask me whether the President will dictate the formation,” he said, in reference to Berlusconi's famous tendency to interfere with the tactics of his Coaches.

“But that's beyond the point. We can discuss things, but we'll do so privately, with no problem whatsoever.”
