Genoa midfielder Diego Perotti reportedly turned down Watford in favour of Maurizio Sarri's Napoli.

The signing of Sarri as Napoli's new Coach has been subverting a number of hierarchies in the transfer market this summer and Perotti's could be one of them.

The 26-year-old was being negotiated by the Premier League club and the Grifone President Enrico Preziosi, but since Napoli expressed an interest, matters have changed.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, the player turned down Watford as a destination, paving the way for Napoli to make an offer.

Sarri is believed to have a high estimation of the Genoa player, seeing him as a valid alternative to Dries Mertens and José Callejon.
