Graziano Pellè explained how Italy Coach Antonio Conte “really motivates me to always do better.”

The Southampton striker spoke to Rai Sport ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against Portugal.

“If Conte is happy, then we all benefit from that, so we’re pleased that he enjoyed the performance in Croatia,” said Pellè of that 1-1 draw.

“The Coach first tells you that you’ve done well, then straight after adds that you can give more. This really motivates me to always do better.”

Italy unveiled the new 4-3-3 system during that Euro 2016 qualifier in Split.

“I am an old-fashioned centre-forward who hopes to become modern one day,” laughed Pellè.

“The system I prefer is 3-5-2, but I am enjoying the 4-3-3 as well, because I get to play for the team more.”
