Cagliari assured Roma they “will find a solution” to the Radja Nainggolan saga, as they don’t want a blind auction either.

The midfielder is in a co-ownership deal between the two clubs and must agree on who will buy the remaining 50 per cent.

If that is not completed before the June 25 deadline, the matter will be decided via a blind auction – each side puts a bid into a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins.

If that is not completed before the June 25 deadline, the matter will be decided via a blind auction – each side puts a bid into a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins.

“We will try to avoid going to a blind auction, because I think that might become the most famous version of it in football history,” said Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini in a Press conference today.

“In any case, our director (Stefano) Capozucca and (Roma chief Walter) Sabatini will find a solution.”

Cagliari are requesting €17m for half of Nainggolan’s contract, whereas so far the Giallorossi’s offer is only €11m.

The Sardinians were relegated to Serie B, so if they did win the auction, Nainggolan would immediately be sold on to a top club like Juventus or Manchester United.
