Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has ended speculation about his future by announcing that he will stay in Rome for another season. 

The 37-year-old was the Biancoceleste’s top scorer this season with 13 Serie A goals but rumours of his departure persisted with only one year left on his deal.

Today the World Cup all-time top goalscorer ended speculation with a post to fans on Lazio’s official Facebook page.

“To play another season for Lazio is a decision that I made with the heart,” it says.

“My family and I are doing very well in Rome and at Lazio.

“The fans are amazing and pass on their love and warmth to us every day. They are truly unique.

“I also want to give my support to our Coach, who is a very special person, and to the whole club, to continue to develop the club’s image with a positive and winning path.”
