Sepp Blatter has delivered a bizarre victory speech after his re-election as FIFA President, comparing the organisation to a boat.

The Swiss was elected for a fifth term earlier today, after Prince Ali bin al-Hussain withdrew from the race, rather than contesting a second vote.

"I thank you,” Blatter told delegates after his victory.

“You have accepted me for the next four years. I will be in command of this boat of FIFA. We will bring it safely back to shore. We will bring it back to the beach

“I am not perfect, nobody is perfect, but we will do a good job together I am sure.

“We need in this committee women. We need ladies. We won’t touch the World Cup. I am a faithful man, God, Allah, whoever, they will help us to bring back this FIFA.

“At the end of my term I will give Fifa to my successor. It will be robust.”

It’s worth pointing out that Blatter said after his last election that he would stand down after his term.

In conceding to Mr Blatter, Prince Ali thanked those 73 delegates who had voted for him.

“It's been a wonderful journey. I want to thank in particular those of you who were brave enough to support me.”

Former Inter winger Luis Figo, a former challenger to Blatter has criticised the 79-year-old's re-election, saying he lacks integrity.
